Tring Park School for the Performing Arts offers a unique opportunity for gifted young people to specialise in Dance, Drama, Musical Theatre or Music, whilst gaining an excellent academic education to GCSE, BTEC and ‘A’ level.

Tring Park is an independent, co-educational boarding and day school, attended by a maximum of 300 pupils between the ages of 8-19. It is housed in a former Rothschild mansion and set in 33 acres of grounds in Tring, Hertfordshire, only 33 miles from Central London.

Figures from the Department for Schools, Children and Families for the summer exams 2008 demonstrate that the school provides an “added value” for pupils’ performance that is in the top 25% in the country.

Stefan Anderson – Headmaster:
What we offer here is unique. Talented children and young people benefit from an excellent standard of teaching in the Performing Arts, and this is reinforced by a very high level of academic education. This results in rounded individuals who are fully prepared for life; not just trained performers, but 'thinking' performers. It is this depth and breadth of education that will give them the best possible chances in their future careers.

We know that every single one of our pupils is different, each with their own blend of ability and ambition. We endeavour to provide a training and education which meets the needs of each pupil and allows them to achieve their full potential.

The School is a very exciting place to be. Visitors regularly comment on the buzz and energy that is about the place and no one ever complains about being bored. A cursory glance at the timetable will show how much we do during the week, vocationally and academically, both inside and outside school. All this performing, training and learning requires a great deal of dedication and commitment from both staff and pupils and this creates a stimulating environment within a supportive community.

There were so many successes and achievements in the past year. And there were also some "firsts". We were involved with a project to record on film, the life and work of the renowned American contemporary choreographer Robert Cohan, and were privileged to have him work with our Dance students. Our singers were invited to join the Royal Choral Society and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra for their annual Good Friday performance of 'Messiah' in front of an audience of 8,000 in the Royal Albert Hall. 8,000 is also the number of young people in the community who have been involved in our current Outreach programme over the past two and a half years. And I don't believe we have ever before had a student (from our Musical Theatre Course) appear on EastEnders.”

Tring Park resonates with a vibrancy and an energy that is difficult to convey on a website. We encourage you to visit us or to call to discuss further your own particular interest in the School.
