Each school has three hours of classes per week which are split up into three one-hour classes of jazz/modern dance, drama and singing, in small classes of no more than fifteen youngsters of similar age. The schools pride themselves on using experienced professionals to teach in all the schools. Many are, or were, actors, singers, dancers, directors or choreographers. Most are highly qualified in teaching or performing, and all are carefully chosen for their experience of working with youngsters. Twice a year our teachers write reports of a student’s potential, attitude and effort.

Whilst it is not Stagecoach policy to conform to a strict syllabus, class work covers many recognised board requirements and students may be entered for Trinity Guildhall group examinations in musical theatre, and LAMDA Speech and Acting examinations.

Many Stagecoach schools offer theatre arts workshops in the holidays, where students will improve on the skills and rehearse for a live performance for family and friends at the end of the workshop week.

There are opportunities for students to get involved in local community and charity events and the annual summer showcase is cast from students throughout the UK as well as overseas.

Past productions have included "Fiddler on the Roof", "Barnum", "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers", a premiere musical version of "Jane Eyre", "The Pirates of Penzance" a specially written adaptation of Wuthering Heights called “Gypsy Blood” and most recently the hugely popular “Annie”

Occasionally the network of Stagecoach schools comes together for large national events like the Queen's Golden Jubilee and The Lord Mayor's Show and has made its mark with performances at the Millennium Dome, the National Indoor Arena Birmingham, The Royal Albert Hall, The Theatre Royal Drury Lane, and at Her Majesty's Theatre both in London's West End.



GSA Stagecoach

Stagecoach has teamed up with GSA (one of the leading schools in Acting and Musical Theatre) and is pleased to introduce GSA Stagecoach, a 2 year part time course for 16+ to run alongside their normal schooling or other commitments. This course will: -

• Equip you to audition for the country’s leading drama schools
• Prepare you to sit for the LAMDA performers’ certificate
• Develop your skills to a high standard
• Offer some basic teacher training strategies

As well as 3 hours per week of classroom work there will be 6 exciting residential weeks of intensive master classes, workshops and enjoyment!
